Masks & Sculpture

Over the years, my sculptural work has taken on many forms. From figurative work to mixed media story pieces, I always come back to masks.

I love mask making.  To me, masks are powerful and life changing. The Latin word for ‘mask’ is ‘persona’, and wearing a mask does change us, personally, in many ways. That’s why, in spite of discouragement in art school, I continue to make masks , and on request, teach mask making. My masks are made of clay, copper, window screening and sometimes, a combination of media.
